Scatterbrain was produced by Morgan Matthews and written/recorded by Nate at his studio in Northern Virginia. The beat had a crazy energy to it when he first heard it and seemed all over the place so he figured he’d follow suit and bring something different to the table. It immediately sparked the idea for a visual of someone feeling suffocated in a crowded room, standing up on a chair, and spilling out everything they’re feeling to the crowd right at that moment. That’s where the idea for using ‘Soap Box’ as a metaphor in the hook originated. From there, it took about an hour. Pretty much saying ‘everybody shut the f*** up a minute and let me tell you how I feel.’ You’ll only make it as far as your voice is heard so make them listen to it.
