Synth-pop duo Ceylon Ceylon have joined forces with vocalist Graziella and bring out the funk on this hard hitting and sassy new single. ‘Why Don’t They Love You’ and follow up single ‘Ghost’ represent a unique thought piece on the ubiquitous obsession with portraying perfection. As they explain:

“The tracks are written from two different perspectives; ‘Why Don’t They Love You’ questions how fulfilling it is to love our digital selves more than our analog selves, while ‘Ghost’ is a reflection on the emptiness we feel when comparing ourselves to the stream of flawlessness on social media.”

Describing their sound as a telescope gazing upon the magical world of vintage soul, ‘Why Don’t They Love You’ exemplifies this by boasting a healthy amount vintage synth sounds and a killer bass line all wrapped up in a simmering contemporary production. Although known previously for their more chilled output, this time round they enter more of an urban territory, teaming up with the incredibly talented Graziella who has delivered a vocal performance full of soul and swag, which also showcases the incredible flow as an emcee she is famed for.

The transatlantic duo, James from New York and Josh from London met whilst running Club nights around Shepherds Bush, London. After bonding over a love of soul, funk, house and electronica, they began to hone their own electro-pop sound. Their debut EP ‘Colombo’ and lead track ‘Havass Ft. Katie Addy’ garnered plenty of early support from influential blogs like The Revue and Megatunes as well as with high profile YouTube channel Electro Pose.
