Radio 1 playlisted & Bristol based BOA present in conjunction with Suzi Island, an electro/dance rework of their debut single Show Me The Way which was released in March. BOA an electronic producer duo from Bristol have been a favourite of the blogs since their debut single Holier was released on Hand In Hive in 2015. That track was picked up by 6Music and Radio 1 after premiering on Noisey. Since then the outfit have accumulated millions of streams across their songs Right Place Right Time, Pharaoh and Steal It, the latter playlisted by Radio 1 as their introducing tune of the week.

Suzi Island on the other hand are without history, having only released the one song 3 weeks ago.
This one song produced and mixed by Pete Robertson of the Vaccines, sets the tone for the two 19 yr olds, who were welcomed to the music scene via a packed-out debut show at The Green Door Store in January, having generated followers from previous bands Outside Central and HUMA. The first release came via a spin on BBC introducing and has since been picked up by tastemaker blogs and Spotify where it currently sits on their ‘Fresh Finds’ playlist.

Following in the footsteps of Royal Blood, British Sea Power and most recently the likes of Yonaka & Dream Wife, Suzi Island are the latest band to form in the breezy seaside town of Brighton, England. Despite being only 19 yrs old, playing music is nothing new for Hugh Reilly-Smith and Matthew Carter. Suzi Island represents childhood friendship and a move away from home to Brighton, to study music. The two 19 year olds grew up together in Andover, playing in bands all their teenage lives. That was the journey and Suzi Island has always been the destination.

They are joined on stage by Carlie Randall-Smith and Harvey Norman, and alongside playing the music, they all live together too. With lyrics based on the ‘Real Life’, (the title of one of their future singles) Suzi Island manage to capture the inspiration within their daily lives. This is what Suzi Island is about: Living life, finding your way, discovery and fun. Currently working on more music with Pete of The Vaccines fame, and Larry Hibbit who has worked on breakthrough records from Nothing But Thieves and Sundara Karma. Suzi Island have a packed 2018 with several more singles due before the years out and numerous live dates.
